Scope note
Spoons of various forms, designed to administer liquid medicine and having calibration or otherwise indicating the amount contained in the spoon. One common form is a handle having a bowl on both ends, one measuring a tablespoon and the other a teaspoon. Another form is a glass or porcelain oblong cup with a spout for pouring into the mouth and a handle. Modern forms may be of plastic, of various shapes and designs to allow deposit of the medicine in the mouth of a child or invalid.
